Recently FBI Director Kash Patel sent a stack of documents to Congress revealing that China was involved in a plot to use bogus U.S. driver’s licenses in an effort to boost Joe Biden.
The plan was to use the fake IDs to send out thousands of mail-in ballots for what its organizers thought would lend a hand to Democrats.
Authorities reportedly caught wind of the plot in August of 2020. U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized almost 20,000 fake licenses around that time.
But intelligence reports on the matter were recalled for reasons never shared, an FBI spokesperson told The New York Post.
Biden had victory margins of 10,000 and 12,000 in Arizona and Georgia, and 20,000 in Wisconsin, all of them considered swing states.
Gordon Chang is an Asian policy analyst and author of "Plan Red: China's Project to Destroy America."

“We also know from reports that in addition to making fake IDs, China also was printing ballots. So, Beijing was interfering in our elections, and we shouldn't be surprised. We know that China supported Joe Biden over Bernie Sanders in the Democratic Party primaries. We also know that the Chinese supported Joe Biden over President (Donald) Trump in the general election."
The evidence of Chinese interference in 2020 has been turned over to the Senate Judiciary Committee which will investigate, Patel said.
It is substantial, Chang says, all pointing to Beijing interfering in the U.S. election.
"For various reasons, the Biden administration did not pursue those leads. I think that the Trump administration should do so,” Chang said.
Trump chimes in
Trump on Friday used a social media post to call for the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate the 2020 election “repeating his baseless claim that the contest was marred by widespread fraud,” according to The Associated Press.
“Biden was grossly incompetent, and the 2020 election was a total FRAUD! The evidence is MASSIVE and OVERWHELMING. A Special Prosecutor must be appointed. This cannot be allowed to happen again in the United States of America! Let the work begin!” Trump wrote.
The administration has a responsibility to enforce the law, Chang said. That resonates even more since it has accused the Biden administration of rampant abuse of Justice Department resources.
“It’s not because that the Chinese were helping Biden over Trump. It's just that the Trump administration has an obligation to enforce the law, and you can't enforce the law if you've refused to follow the evidence. So, it's time to follow the evidence into China's substantial interference in our election. It's as simple as that."
