Congress challenged to consider conservative group's plan

A black leadership network is promoting its established counter plan to congressional Democrats' destructive vision for America.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-New York) recently responded to President Trump's 100th day in office by launching into a tirade intended to revitalize his party's faltering progressive agenda.

He pledged that over the next 100 days, "House Democrats are going to lay out a blueprint for a better America."

"You will see a vision for this country's future that isn't about Donald Trump," he said. "It's all about you. "How can we make your life better? How can we put more money in your pocket? How can we lower your costs?"

But according to Jeffries' glimpse into his party's plans, the blueprint seems to be a lot about Donald Trump and "aggressively" pushing back against his policies.

Emery McClendon of Project 21 says their "Blueprint for a Better Deal for Black America" has been around for years.

It is a comprehensive manual that offers 56 actionable policy recommendations across eight primary issue areas, including criminal justice, education, election integrity, burdensome regulations, and healthcare.

"What they need to do is take a look at what we have proposed, to take a look at what's in our blueprint," McClendon says. "If they want to help, then those are the ideas that will work. The Democratic administrations' are ideas that lead us further and further into socialism, progressivism, [and] wokeism."

He says the Left remains obsessed with identity politics – increased racism and DEI tenants. But because those things do not help the black community, the Trump administration is dismantling them.

"What they do is tear down all communities, including black communities, because they don't give other people a chance, especially white America," McClendon submits. "What they do is they tell black people that you need us and that you can't get anywhere unless we give you diversity, equity and inclusion."

The 2022 edition of the Blueprint point out that black Americans overwhelmingly voted for Joe Biden in the 2020 election in hopes that he would address the growing and diverse needs of their community. Instead, they found themselves worse off than before Biden became president.

It offers concrete recommendations that rely on the strengths of America and values like faith, personal responsibility, and free market solutions.
