Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney (shown above) is reportedly going to call a snap election on Sunday, for an expected vote on April 28th.
Carney recently replaced Justin Trudeau (shown right), who had grown increasingly unpopular. The governing Liberals had appeared poised for a historic election defeat this year until Trump declared economic war. He has repeatedly said Canada should become the 51st state of the U.S. Now polls show the party and its new leader could come out on top again.

“It amazes me. It actually astounds me that the polls have

changed like that, although not all the polls are saying the same thing. There are, I guess, two major polls that say that the Liberals are ahead, one that says the Conservatives are a couple of points ahead. But the shift has been quite dramatic, which just absolutely I have no understanding of why that is,” he said.

"I had thought that it was possible for him to continue until the legislative election date, which is in October. But obviously the polls are looking good for him, so he has decided to call the election now and that's very bad for Canada because the last thing we need is a Liberal government."
