Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Thursday that he has picked the Florida Attorney General (shown above) to go to Washington to help implement the conservative agenda of Trump, who will be sworn in Monday for his second term.
Moody has been instrumental in defending DeSantis' conservative agenda in court and has joined other Republican-led states in challenging the Biden administration's policies, suing over changes to immigration enforcement, student loan forgiveness and vaccine mandates for federal contractors.
She has also been a staunch supporter of Trump and was part of a lawsuit that challenged the validity of Joe Biden's win in 2020.
Jenna Ellis served as a Trump attorney during his first term. She hosts Jenna Ellis in the Morning on American Family Radio and is also a Florida resident.
"I think this is a phenomenal selection by Gov. DeSantis, and she had emerged as a frontrunner in the last several weeks along with some other clearly strong choices. Florida has a lot of great conservatives. She's going to be a staunch ally of President Trump's America First agenda."
And Ellis says Moody will be a strong supporter of traditional values.
"She's a strong person of faith, and she's going to definitely bring that biblical worldview component, be strong, an advocate for religious freedom, free speech, all of those things that are so important not just to Floridians that she will represent but now really being a member of the Senate,” Ellis said.
A boost for judicial appointments
Moody’s experience and values will be a plus when judicial vacancies are filled.
“She will be important when it comes to other confirmation hearings in the future, like perhaps United States Supreme Court justices and certainly other Article 3 judges that Trump will appoint,” Ellis said.
