Pete Hegseth, who allegedly has a history of womanizing, heavy drinking, and financial mismanagement, is scheduled to appear today before the Senate Armed Services Committee, chaired by Mississippi Republican Roger Wicker.
Retired Navy Commander Kirk Lippold thinks Democrats on the committee will try to create drama during the hearing.
"You're going to see unethical Democrat senators like Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and others bring up all the accusations regarding Pete Hegseth … in an attempt to smear and demean," he predicts. "Democrats do not care about our national security and who is leading the nation in the most challenging time in the last 50 years."
"I think that you're going to see a lot of horrific things said about Pete Hegseth," Lippold adds.
Nevertheless, he does not think the confirmation will be stopped.
"I think he's going to be the mature individual and take it, and at the end of the day, he's going to get confirmed," the analyst foresees.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) has reportedly told President-elect Trump, that there are enough votes to assure Hegseth's confirmation.
