Tulsi Gabbard joins 'party of the people' at Trump rally

During a Trump campaign rally in North Carolina Tuesday night, Tulsi Gabbard -- a former Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii -- announced she is officially joining the Republican Party.

Speaking to the crowd at the rally, Gabbard (pictured above) accused the Democratic Party of no longer serving as a "home" for those who love the Constitution.

“To those of you here or those watching at home who are independent-minded people like myself, who love our country and are committed to the Constitution and to freedom, the Democrat Party has no home for people like us,” Gabbard said.

"I'm proud to stand here with you today, President Trump, and announce that I'm joining the Republican Party," she added.

Gabbard represented the State of Hawaii in the U.S. House from 2013 to 2021. In 2020, she ran for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination.
