An Ohio-based tea party activist says the Buckeye State could be the key in Republicans’ effort to maintain control of the House of Representative next year.

It is now less than three weeks to the election, and while most of the attention is focused on the presidential sweepstakes, control of the House and Senate are also critical.

If Republicans win the White House but don't maintain control of the House, Donald Trump could spend the next two years dealing with another impeachment.

Tom Zawistowski is President of the Tea Party-affiliated We the People Convention. He says Ohio is going to play a key role in determining that majority.

Democrats need a stronger showing than Republicans in the so-called “toss-up” districts to change the balance of power in the House, according to the latest ratings at Cook Political Report.

Republicans can maintain control by winning 11 of the 26 seats rated as toss-ups, The New York Times reports.

Control will likely be decided by 43 very competitive races.

Zawistowski is confident the GOP will perform well in Ohio.

"We think we're going to flip two Dem seats. They only have five congressional seats in Ohio. We think we're going to flip two of them, in the Ohio 13th, Kevin Coughlin, and the Ohio 1st with Orlando Sonza.

“And our organization, we need people. The convention has been putting money into those races because we think that's true. Now there's other states with redistricting and stuff and it doesn't affect, but I think net, net we end up with control of the House with a few more seats than we currently have. That's what I think is going to happen."
