A tea party leader believes debates will give JD Vance a platform to display the stark contrast between himself and his Democratic opponent.

Tom Zawistowski, president of the tea party affiliated We the People Convention, says "it's critical" that the Ohio senator debate Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and he hopes Vance gets more than one chance to do so.

Vance has said he would debate Gov. Walz on CNN September 1, but as of now, the Democrat has only accepted the invitation to the October 1 CBS debate.

Zawistowski expects CBS will attempt to tilt the field in Walz's favor.

"But I don't think it'll matter," he adds. "I think that JD Vance is going to show that he's really, really smart and that you're going to see a stark contrast between basically a socialist and an American patriot."

Noting the crowd's response at a recent speaking engagement in Pennsylvania to a crowd of foreign war veterans, the tea party leader would advise Vance to hit hard on Walz's decision to retire from the Army in 2005, just as a mobilization order was issued for his National Guard unit to deploy to Iraq.

"There are 800,000 veterans in Pennsylvania, and if they can agree with Vance that this indeed was improper, that could make a difference," Zawistowski submits. "Pennsylvania can be very, very close, so, I do think it's worth pursuing, and I think Vance has done a good job of making the case."

As for the media's bias for the Democratic ticket, Trump's running mate does not think it will be enough to drown out the real-life effects the Biden-Harris administration's failed policies have had on the American people.
