Advice: Welcome Haley to the fold, but keep her off the ticket

A pro-family activist and political pundit says it's good that Nikki Haley has finally decided to support Donald Trump.

Janet Porter, founder and president of Faith2Action, says it is way too early to celebrate a complete victory, but former President Donald Trump is riding high after an estimated 25,000 people gathered in the South Bronx last Thursday to see him.

That happened the day after former rival Nikki Haley announced she will vote for Trump this November. She ended her own bid for the GOP nomination two months ago but did not immediately endorse Trump, having accused him of causing chaos and disregarding the importance of U.S. alliances abroad.

"I stand by what I said in my suspension speech," she noted. "Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me and not assume that they're just going to be with him. And I genuinely hope he does that."

Porter says the only real alternative was for Haley to pledge to continue the policies of America's destruction.

"I don't think she had any choice," Porter summarizes. "I do think it's a good move on her part, and I think it would be a good move on President Trump's part to welcome her supporters into the fold, to see a unified party moving forward."

Still, she would advise Trump to keep Haley off the ticket.

"I don't think that he should go as far as choosing her or even considering her as a vice president," Porter adds. "She is not who we want to be on this ticket. She is not in alignment with the values of those who stand behind President Trump."

Haley's comments last week are considered another signal of the GOP's consolidation of support behind Trump, even from those who have labeled him a threat in the past.
