Rodriguez has advice for both parties if they want Hispanic votes in Nov.

Knowing the two big political parties are courting Hispanic votes in November, a national Hispanic leader has scripture-based criticism for the Democrats and political wisdom for Republicans.

Sammy Rodriguez, presidential of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, is no stranger to national politics. After being a trusted advisor on Hispanic and Latino issues to President Donald Trump, Rodriguez is now witnessing Trump attempt to return to the White House which would mean defeating President Joe Biden.

Dems edit Trump speech for gran mentira about 'animals'

Donald Trump’s comments this week about the alleged murderer of a Georgia college student were blatantly twisted by Democrats and their media allies, even though their dishonesty was obvious.

Speaking at a campaign stop Tuesday in Michigan, Trump said he recently met with the family of Laken Riley, the 22-year-old nursing student, “who was barbarically murdered by an illegal alien animal.”

But it was Trump’s next statement – Democrats  don’t want him to use the word “animals,” but he’s going to keep using it – that went viral online on X channels, such as Biden-Harris HQ.

The dishonest editing gave Democrats a talking point – a false one – that Trump had called immigrants “animals” on the campaign trail, when he was referring to illegal immigrants who have committed serious crimes in recent months.

“The sad thing is, your followers are gullible enough to believe this,” Clandestine, a second X channel,  replied in the comments.

That edited clip of Trump, which was reposted more than 4,000 times from just the Biden-Harris HQ account, was also posted in Spanish by the Democrat-supporting X channel.

Joe Concha, a Fox News contributor, was among many who noticed the dishonest editing and attempted to shame the other side for its tactics.

What this shows, without ambiguity,” he told the cable news channel, “is that a growing number of news outlets exist for two reasons: To make Republicans and especially Donald trump look bad, and to assist Democrats and especially Joe Biden look good."

In an interview about Hispanic voters on the “Washington Watch” program, Rodriguez said Trump and the GOP are being aided by the radical goals of the Democratic Party.

Rodriguez, Rev. Samuel (NHCLC) Rodriguez

"The Democratic party is committing political suicide by alienating Latinos every single day, more and more,” Rodriguez said, “by advancing agendas that are antithetical to who we are and what we believe.”

Defending late-term abortion is one example of that radical agenda, he said, and so is the transgender-related obsessed with young children.

“How many Latinos that you know,” Rodriguez said, “believe that a 6-year-old can be sexually mutilated because that 6-year-old is having questions about their sexual identity? And thinks the government has the power to endorse mutilation?”

In the 2022 midterm elections, Republicans got about 39% of Hispanic votes despite the Democratic Party’s constant theme of a “white supremacist” GOP that hates minorities, especially immigrants. Trump and his supporters are similarly called a threat to democracy.

President Biden – or whoever is making decisions for him – chose a Hispanic woman, Julie Chavez Rodriguez, as his re-election campaign manager. A veteran of Democrat politics, she is the granddaughter of Cesar Chavez, the late Mexican-American farm labor leader.

A glowing story about Julie Chavez, published this week by The Washington Post, describes a hectic campaign schedule that includes courting Arab-American voters in Michigan and targeting black voters with $30 million in campaign ads.

The story also points out Biden won Latino voters by 29 points in 2020 but some polls show Trump and Biden running about even.

According to Rodriguez, who prayed at Trump’s  inauguration, the secular-minded Democratic Party has a big challenge because more and more Latinos and Hispanics are embracing a Christian worldview.

"As Latinos become more and more Protestant, more and more evangelical, they vote conservative Christian worldview," said Rodriguez. "You will see that in 2024.”

Asked what Republicans can do to win over Latino voters, Rodriguez said the party needs to balance the hot-button issue of immigration by recognizing the American values Hispanics bring to the culture. That observation from Rodriguez is not-so-subtle advice about the issue of illegal immigration, since he clashed with the former president on the issue.

The issue of illegal immigration likely helped Trump get elected in 2016, with his promise to “build a wall” along the U.S.-Mexico border, but Rodriguez used his access to Trump to advise him about his tone and to remind him millions of Hispanic-Americans are patriotic, hard-working citizens.

Thanks to a porous southern border, and daily flights bringing in tens of thousands of illegal aliens, illegal immigration is again a top issue as the November election grows closer.

“Talk about faith and family, and limited government, parental rights,” Rodriguez advised. “You will win more Latino voters."
