PBS story praises 'sedition hunters' for chasing down Capitol rioters

Three years after the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, Americans are still turning in co-workers, neighbors and even family members under the belief they are patriots punishing traitorous Trump supporters who participated in an insurrection.

Americans who were angered at Trump and his violent supporters have been nicknamed “sedition hunters” for volunteering their own time and technology to help the FBI identify and track down rioters, according to a glowing PBS News story.

To date, more than 1,200 people have been arrested and 900 charged so far thanks in part to “citizen investigators” such as one person anonymously identified by PBS only as “Sandy.”

Sandy described long days and sleepless nights when she reviewed Jan. 6 footage that has put some of the Capitol rioters behind bars. One person she tracked down is Scott Miller, 37, a Proud Boys member who has pleaded guilty to a felony charge for assaulting Capitol Hill police officers that day.

“Eventually, when I found his face, we were able to plug it into some facial recognition software. That popped up a picture of him at his work,” Sandy said, who laughed at her success in tracking down Miller.

Bauer, Gary (American Values) Bauer

Gary Bauer, of American Values, tells AFN the “sedition hunters” didn’t seem too concerned in 2020 when tens of thousands of rioters were killing Americans and burning down storefronts during a summer of race riots.

“No effort was made to find out who those people were,” he points out.

According to a Time Magazine story, 93% of the demonstrations in 2020 were peaceful, which left approximately 220 violent demonstrations to account for the other seven percent.
