After Hamas, a spin-off of the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, brutally attacked Israel over the weekend, killing at least 1,000 Israelis and 22 Americans, a Palestinian flag remained displayed in front of the Michigan Democrat's Washington, D.C. office.
Tlaib has issued a statement in which she appears to blame Israel for the terror attack, but she has otherwise been silent about Hamas' brutal tactics. And when FOX Business reporter Hillary Vaughn repeatedly tried to get the far-Left "Squad" member to comment on the reports that Hamas had beheaded Israeli babies, Tlaib remained silent.
"Congresswoman, why do you have the Palestinian flag outside your office if you do not condone what Hamas terrorists have done to Israel?" Vaughn asked. "Do Israeli lives not matter to you?"
Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness (CMR), says the silence has caused "a lot of outrage."
"Those of us who have friends, who have family in Israel were very concerned. The way that she wouldn't even have the decency to comment about the atrocities that have been occurring with families and babies just brings home just how vicious her philosophy is," Donnelly asserts. "It's worse than an embarrassment; it's an outrage that she is representing a district in the state of Michigan. She needs to be replaced."
But because of redistricting, Tlaib is probably not going anywhere.
"It was carved out in such a way that it will remain a Democrat district unless there's a good Democrat who comes along and beats her in the primary," the CMR president explains. "I think they carved it out deliberately so that a woman like her would have that seat. That's very frustrating."
Tlaib is the first congresswoman of Palestinian descent. She supports the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which has been condemned by the Anti-Defamation League as rooted in antisemitism.
Donnelly does not think the voters in that district are well represented.
In contrast, BLM celebrates
While Rashida Tlaib refused to comment on Hamas' brutality in the Gaza Strip war, Black Lives Matter chapters in Chicago, Indianapolis, and elsewhere were just the opposite.
The Indianapolis chapter of BLM issued a statement proclaiming "the heroic Palestinian people have the right to resist their racist, white supremacist, land-stealing, Zionist occupiers!" – followed by "I Stand with Palestine!" The Chicago chapter issued the same "I Stand with Palestine!" message, superimposed with an image of a paraglider flying with a Palestinian flag – the method used by the Hamas terrorists to slaughter more than 200 concertgoers last weekend.
The Project 21 Black Leadership Network condemns these BLM statements and supports Israel in its existential fight. Marie Fischer, a Project 21 member who is Jewish, tells AFN she isn't surprised BLM supported the atrocious terrorist activities in Israel.
"They are just beyond despicable – and hopefully people now see their true color," Fischer says. "They're nothing but anarchists. Technically, they're terrorists themselves, in my opinion."
Fischer recalls the radical group's actions in 2020. "Think of the billions of dollars of damage BLM did. Think of people who were killed – a lot of [whom] were innocent bystanders – due to BLM rioting. It doesn't surprise me they support the killing of innocent women, children, babies," she laments.
Fischer contends Black Lives Matter has accomplished nothing for black America, but only serves to divide and to condone violence and oppression.
