Parental rights isn't a partisan issue

From coast to coast, parents are reminding their elected officials that taxpayers are the ones who are in charge.

Tonight, Moms for Liberty co-founder Tiffany Justice says concerned parents, families, and community members in New Hampshire will be addressing some of the things that they are seeing happen with parental rights and in their state.

Her organization, she says, is more than moms; a lot of dads, grandparents, grandfathers, aunts, uncles, and community members who do not even have children are involved. Whatever their status, Justice says it is important that people pay attention to what is going on in education.

"America's public schools currently right now are being used to change the culture of our country," she asserts. "That's been happening for quite some time. I think during COVID, parents saw behind the education curtain and saw some of the toxic ideology in the schools, and they became very concerned about the divisive nature of some of the teaching."

Justice points out that "your tax dollars pay for the education that children are receiving," and in her opinion, taxpayers are not getting their money's worth.

"$850 billion will be spent on public education in 2023, yet we have nearly two-thirds of American children not reading on grade level," she reports. "This is criminal. To be honest with you, it's fraud. Americans are paying taxes, expecting that children are receiving a practical education that they're able to use to unfold their full potential in life, but that's not what's happening in those schools."

Tonight's Parents in Charge meeting is set for 7pm Eastern, and Nikki Haley will be on stage for the event.

"We're thankful that a presidential candidate like Nikki Haley wants to hear directly from taxpayers about some of the things that are happening in their community," Justice says.

The Arizona state superintendent of education is among those scheduled to appear at an upcoming Moms for Liberty event in Mesa, Arizona. The organization is also working on a town hall in Montgomery County, Maryland, where parents will come together across racial, political, and religious lines "to put kids first and to safeguard the innocence of their children and their parental rights."

Even in 'the bluest of blue states'

Republicans and Democrats do not agree on much in the deep blue state of California, but the welfare of their children is the exception.

Protect Kids California is trying to get three initiatives put on the ballot. One would ban hormone treatment or surgeries on kids in The Golden State, one would require schools to inform parents if their kids are confused about their gender, and the other would keep boys from competing in girls' sports.

Parent and lawyer Erin Friday, a Democrat whose child was secretly transitioned by her public school, recently told Fox News this is not a partisan issue.

"This issue is affecting Democratic families and Republican families," she stated. "Parents are losing their rights regardless of what party they're from."

And despite what the media and some politicians would have people believe, Democratic voters care more about their kids than they do about political correctness.

"About 80% of these parents are Democrats," Friday said about her parent group. "The party is just not listening to us."

She believes the Democratic politicians in her state are seriously out of touch.

"There's not one California elected official who's a Democrat that is standing up for kids. Not one," Friday lamented. "Each one of them has to then be promoting the removal of healthy body parts of children. I don't think they're paying attention to the fact that Democratic parents are against the mutilation of children."

Republican Jonathan Zachreson, also of Protect Kids California, hopes their efforts will provide a blueprint for the rest of the country.

"If we can show that the bluest of blue states can shun these practices, then it can happen anywhere in the country," he stated.
