America’s border states have witnessed the effects of illegal immigration for generations, from crime to crowded schools, and now those states are watching Democrats ignore them to help their political allies.

As part of the budget reconciliation process, $800 million was earmarked to help states and local governments deal with illegals who are being housed and fed under their care. The largest share of those funds --- $105 million --- is going to New York City, a so-called “sanctuary city.”

“If you look at what these local leaders are saying, it is not stop the flow of people coming in, it is send us more money,” says Ira Mehlman of FAIR, or the Federation for American Immigration Reform.

In June, New York media reported those federal funds are going to New York through FEMA and its Shelter Services Program to help approximately 46, 000 illegal aliens being cared for by city government.

The story credited two prominent Democrats, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries and Sen. Chuck Schumer, for securing the funds for city government.

According to Mehlman, Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema was livid after learning New York City was receiving the most funds, which she attributed to Schumer being the current Senate Majority Leader.

“There's an insufficient pot of money,” Mehlman concludes, “and it is being manipulated in a way that benefits allies of the White House, apparently not necessarily the states that are being hurt the most."
