Gabbard fed up with 'powerful elite,' says aloha to Dem Party

Tulsi Gabbard has had it with the Democratic Party – and she's calling on like-minded Democrats to leave behind what she describes as a "woke" party controlled by elitists, warmongers, and ideologues.

The former Democratic congresswoman and presidential candidate made public this morning what many in the Republican Party suspected she might do eventually: exit the Democratic Party. Gabbard minced no words in a short video posted to her Twitter account:

"I can no longer remain in today's Democratic Party that's under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers who are driven by cowardly wokeness; who divide us by racializing every issue and stoking anti-white racism; who actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms that are enshrined in our Constitution; who are hostile to people of faith and spirituality; who demonize the police but protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans; who believe in open borders; who weaponize the national security state to go after their political opponents – and above all, who are dragging us ever closer to nuclear war."

"@TulsiGabbard announced she's leaving the Democratic Party. She's a good friend who loves & serves her country. I'm praying for her, that God will direct her steps. I hope her decision will make people think about what has happened to the Democratic Party."

She went on to say while she believes in a government that is of the people, by the people, and for the people, today's Democratic Party does not. "Instead, it stands for a government that is of, by, and for the powerful elite," says Gabbard.

She concludes the short video with an invitation:

"I'm calling on my fellow common-sense, independent-minded Democrats to join me in leaving the Democratic Party. If you can no longer stomach the direction that the so-called woke Democratic Party ideologues are taking our country, I invite you to join me."

Gabbard was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 2013 to 2021, representing Hawaii's 2nd Congressional District. She was unsuccessful in her 2020 bid for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination.

Earlier today, Gabbard launched the first episode of a YouTube series bearing her name. That first episode (28 minutes long) is titled: "Why I'm leaving the Democratic Party." (See below)
