According to the Quinnipiac University survey, 60% of Hispanics dislike the job President Joe Biden is doing, and only 26% approve. This is in sharp contrast to similar surveys conducted in 2020 and 2021 that found a majority of Hispanics approved of Biden's policies.
The Quinnipiac analysis also shows that more Hispanics want Republicans to take control of both the House and Senate this fall than want Democrats to retain control of both chambers.
Humberto Fontova, who fled Cuba in 1961 and has since written several books on the regime, says Biden's policies are clearly hurting Americans of all stripes.
"The price of gas affects everybody," he notes. "Inflation affects everybody."
Hispanics of Cuban descent have traditionally supported Republicans, but now non-Cuban Hispanics are getting on board.
"It was always different with Puerto Rican Americans and Mexican Americans. But again, inflation hits everybody, whether you have a Hispanic last name or not," Fontova reiterates. "Finally we're at the point we're everybody's going, What have we done?"
He asserts that the hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens Biden is inviting to cross the border will also meet the reality of his policies.
"When they get here and they realize that the financial conditions, the economic conditions in this country aren't really all that different from the ones that they left -- that is a wakeup call," Fontova concludes.
