War-torn Afghanistan facing starvation and worse

The people of Afghanistan are facing widespread starvation in a country where violence and bloodshed are a daily occurrence, and now comes even worse news for families living under the Taliban regime.

Matias Perttula of International Christian Concern tells American Family News desperate families are selling their own children to Afghan men in order to afford food to eat.

“They have some money and they're able to provide the family with some finances in exchange for the sale of their daughters,” he says. “And they've been as young as 14 that we've tracked.”

The very last U.S. and NATO troops withdrew from Afghanistan last August, ending a 20-year presence that left the Third World nation in the hands of the cruel and barbaric Taliban. In that Islamic culture, women are viewed as property.

ICC is urging other countries to pour international aid into Afghanistan and also help evacuate the nation’s most vulnerable citizens.
