The consulate was struck by gunfire Tuesday morning in what authorities are calling a "national security incident,” according to Fox News.
A white SUV, a Honda CR-V, can been seen on surveillance cameras and two male suspects were still at large Wednesday.
The attack on the U.S. consulate occurred after three Toronto-area synagogues were targeted with gunfire on March 2, March 7, and March 7.
No arrests have been made after those incidents.
Dr. Charles McVety, president of Canada Christian College, told American Family News the government is “soft peddling” Islamic terrorism after placating Muslims going back 2 ½ years, when Mark Carney became the new prime minister.
“They have allowed them to operate here in Canada, and they have caused a lot of trouble,” he complained. “Even our prime minister gives tacit support to them."
Carney, described by critics as a liberal and a globalist, recently recognized the Muslim month of Ramadan. He also filmed himself attending Iftar, the fast-breaking evening meal, at a mosque.
On the Canada Christian College campus, meanwhile, McVety bluntly said he doubts his own government would ever provide security for its students at the school’s weekly worship service.
“I have to hire armed police officers to provide security,” he said. “The government won’t give it to us.”
