When President Donald Trump reached the 100-day milestone last week, many commentators expressed their amazement at how much the president accomplished in that short window of time.
The Federation for American Immigration Reform says in the first 100 days the Trump administration has taken historic, decisive steps to strengthen border security and interior enforcement, restoring the safety of American communities and the value of American citizenship.
Trump signed eight border-related executive orders on his first day in office.
Under the Biden administration, more than 10 million illegal aliens were allowed into the country, and the Trump administration is delivering on its mandate to reverse that crisis, restore the rule of law, and secure our borders.
The Trump administration is also continuing to fight to end exploitation of our immigration system and keep American citizens safe. Those efforts include legal battles to remove Tren de Aragua members under the Alien Enemies Act, terminate TPS for Venezuela, and limit birthright citizenship, FAIR reports.

Ira Mehlman is media director for FAIR.
"As far as the border is concerned, it's just night and day difference. During the month of March, which is the most recent month that we have data for apprehensions along the southern border, they captured a grand total of 7,181 people coming across the southern border illegally. We go back to the height of the Biden border crisis and that was a slow day. And this was an entire month."
Different focus at the border
Mehlman says Trump was able to shut down the border almost immediately.
"We are now at a point where we're starting to remove people from the country, bringing the numbers down rather than (only) trying to prevent the numbers of people here illegally from growing as rapidly as they were for the past four years,” he said.
The campaign trail Trump that Americans saw is the Trump they’re getting.
“So, he made this a campaign issue, he made promises on this issue, and he has largely kept them,” Mehlman said.
