After plans for a wide-scale ICE operation in Los Angeles were leaked by a federal law enforcement source to the media, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said the leak likely came from someone within the “corrupt” FBI.
That now-postponed ICE raid comes after a similar leak tipped off illegal immigrants, including Tren de Aragua gang members, in Aurora, Colorado.
That tip went unnoticed until ICE agents showed up and found empty apartments in the city that become known for the dangerous Venezuelan gang.
Tom Homan, Trump’s all-business border czar, told Fox News the Aurora leak came from the “inside” and DHS is close to finding the person responsible.
"It’s just not giving the bad guys a heads-up so they can escape apprehension," Homan told Fox News. "You’re putting officers' lives at risk."
Ira Mehlman, of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, tells AFN Homan has every right to find and prosecute the leaker.
“The bottom line is if you're going to be leaking information about law enforcement operations, and tipping off the people who are being targeted, that is obstruction of justice," Mehlman warns.

After watching the Biden administration blatantly ignore immigration law for four years, Mehlman says the Trump administration is now defending sovereign borders and upholding our federal immigration laws.
He says he is especially pleased that Pam Bondi, the new U.S. attorney general, is going after sanctuary cities for flaunting federal laws.
“Right now we're in the early stages and there's going to be some resistance,” he observes. "But I suspect as the administration really starts to take form, they are going to track down the people who are getting in the way and they're going to hold them accountable as well."
