Homeland Security Sec. Kristi Noem (above) said Wednesday that the Trump administration has revoked a decision that would have protected roughly 600,000 people from Venezuela from deportation.
Alejandro Mayorkas, in the waning days of the Biden administration, ordered to extend Temporary Protected Status for Venezuela illegals for 18 months.
Gary Bauer is chairman of the Campaign for Working Families.
"President Biden on his way out, I think to his shame and embarrassment, if he could feel embarrassment, did a string of things that were just outrageous. One of them was this ridiculous order by Biden allowing 600,000 people from Venezuela another protracted period of time after they had been allowed to come in under some political turmoil that was going on in their home country."
Thousands took to the streets last summer to protest (above) the re-election of socialist President Nicholas Maduro.
Among the 600,000 to receive Biden's extended guest passes are members of Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan prison gang that has been active in numerous states across the U.S.
Tren de Aragua gang members have been accused of deadly shootings, home invasions and even taking control of entire apartment complexes.
So Bauer cheered when President Trump reversed the order this week.
"It's an example of what he's continuing to do to try to increase the security of the United States. But I would caution everybody that the battle over these sorts of issues is far from over, and I'm sure liberal groups like the ACLU are going into the federal courts, and they will try to get some liberal judge to block what President Trump just wisely did to correct President Biden's unacceptable mistake."
