During a recent visit to Tel Aviv, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin told his Israeli counterpart that "diplomacy is the best way to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon."
But Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant told Austin, "We must take all measures necessary to prevent Iran from gaining a nuclear weapon," inferring that Israel could resort to military action to take out Iran's nuclear facilities.
Jan Markell, founder and director of Olive Tree Ministries, says Israel has no choice.
"Not only does Israel have to do it, she's training to do it," Markell notes. "Her air force is doing test runs to I believe it's Spain, simply because that's the exact distance between Israel and Iran. Israel is actively preparing to strike Iran. She will do so sometime in 2023, probably fairly soon. So, [Lloyd] Austin needs to stay out of this."
She adds that this is a tenuous time.
"The whole world is destabilized because of everything that's going on. You've got Ukraine. You've got China. You've got Russia. You've got North Korea, not to mention Iran and her nuclear capability," Markell lists. "The world is ready to explode."
Though she recognizes that the Bible describes the last days as being "perilous," Markell admits, "I never thought I'd see it like this in my lifetime."
