Border crossers keep triggering terror watchlist

It might sound like a classic Tom Clancy novel – foreign terrorists are attempting to sneak across the U.S.-Mexico border – but it’s true, and an immigration watchdog warns the terrorists can easily exploit that open, porous border.

In just a three-month period, from October to December, the U.S. Border Patrol arrested 38 foreigners who attempted to enter the U.S. through an official port of entry but never went any farther. That’s because their names matched those on the “terror watch list” maintained by the FBI.

Border chaos 'happening on purpose' for future voters

The leader of an immigration watchdog says the Biden administration is not fumbling the U.S.-Mexico border crisis as some critics claim because the chaos happening there is quite intentional.

“This happening on purpose,” Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, told Fox News this week.

During an appearance on the “Fox and Friends” show, Stein said the Democratic Party sees the border differently than the American people.

“Democrats are invested in trying to re-engineer the electorate through massive illegal immigration,” he alleged, “to try to retain one-party political control for 50 years.”

In fact, right after the midterm elections, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) seemed to give the game away when he said the U.S. needs illegal immigrants because the country is “short of workers” and the population is not reproducing quick enough.

“Our ultimate goal is to help the DREAMers but get a path to citizenship for all 11 million, or however many undocumented there are here,” Schumer, standing on the U.S. Capitol steps, said publicly.

For welcoming a flood of illegals for political gain, the Biden administration might as well be “co-conspirators” with the drug cartels, Stein concluded.

The secretive list, officially known as the Terrorist Screening Database, includes known or suspected terrorists.

According to a New York Post story about the apprehensions, the Border Patrol recorded 98 “watch list” apprehensions during the 2022 fiscal year and 15 during 2021.

Republican lawmakers in Congress keep raising concerns about the number of terrorists attempting to sneak in, especially in light of record-breaking numbers of illegal aliens who are entering. Many more border crossers, known as "gotaways," elude their pursuers.

Ira Mehlman, of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, says America’s enemies are well aware of the porous border.

“And they are going to take advantage in any way they possibly can,” he says, “to harm us.”

What should concern the American public, Mehlman adds, is the foreign terrorists have financial resources to reach the U.S.-Mexico border. They can then work with the drug cartels to sneak onto U.S. soil.

“So this poses a huge risk to the United States,” he warns, “and unfortunately we will not find out about it until something goes boom and then suddenly people will start asking questions."
