Biden, Harris can't sweep border situation under the rug

An immigration reform organization says the American public doesn't need former President Trump to tell them that the Biden administration has created a massive crisis at the southern border.

At the invitation of Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R), Trump will visit the US-Mexico border on June 30th.

"I have accepted the invitation of Texas Governor Greg Abbott," the former president recently said in a news release. "Biden and Harris won't even tour the scenes of the wreckage they created, or come down and visit with the Border Patrol and ICE heroes risking their lives to defend our Nation. What Biden and Harris have done, and are continuing to do on our border, is a grave dereliction of duty. My visit will hopefully shine a spotlight on these crimes against our Nation."

Mehlman, Ira (Federation for American Immigration Reform) Mehlman

"The American public doesn't need Donald Trump to tell them that the Biden administration has created a massive crisis there that is affecting national security, national health -- just every aspect of life that is of concern to the American people," responds Ira Mehlman, a spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR). "The problem is evident to everybody, and all of us, regardless of whether we're a former president or not, have a right to go and see what is going on down there."

With that said, Vice President Kamala Harris continues to be missing in action.

"She is part of the problem," Mehlman insists. "She [and] Joe Biden have created the problem, and I guess she doesn't want to go down there and acknowledge the extent of the problem that they have created."

But he reiterates that the American people understand that no matter how hard the Biden administration tries to "sweep this under the rug," it is something they are going to have to deal with sooner or later.
