Samaritan's Purse on the job in spite of challenges; Graham asks for prayer for all

Samaritan's Purse is up and running in flood-ravaged North Carolina.

Reports are that the areas inundated by Hurricane Helene will be digging out for years to come, but for the immediate future, Franklin Graham's disaster relief ministry Samaritan's Purse is on the job. Graham told Fox and Friends they've not lost anyone, but the ministry has been affected.
“A lot of our families lost their homes or the roads are damaged. Some of them still can't get out.”

Multiple reports as of Thursday have revised Helene’s death toll to more than 200 with hundreds more missing and search-and-rescue teams struggling to reach remote areas. Some aid deliveries have been made by air drops and mules.

President Joe Biden viewed the damage Wednesday, flying over the Carolinas in a helicopter.

Meeting Needs

Samaritan's Purse has set up a mobile hospital and his helping with rescues and delivering food and water.

“The need is incredible. You’ve seen the pictures, but we're using our assets, our helicopter, our airplanes to try to help, and people like Joe Gibbs and Rick Hendrick, their helicopters.”
He says he'd also like some help from the world's richest man.

“Elon Musk is giving his satellite system, Starlink. I don't know who he gave them to, but I wish he'd give them to the churches. We could give to 500 churches, if we had them, and let the churches be communication centers in all these little communities across the state.”

Pray, pray, pray

Graham is asking for your help.

“We do need volunteers. I think if I could say one thing, it's volunteers. We need them in Valdosta, Georgia, we need them in Asheville.”

But the first thing he wants you to do is pray.

“The greatest thing is we need prayer. We need to pray for our president, that God will give him wisdom. We need to pray for these emergency workers, for our governor, and for these people that have lost their loved ones.”
