A pro-family activist says Congress needs to codify the executive action that has compelled hospitals to stop conducting mutilative surgeries on "gender-confused" children.

Activists claim that children who are confused about their gender need to be allowed to permanently alter their bodies with medicine and surgeries, but LifeSiteNews.com points out that experts, multiple studies, and personal experience disprove that.

"The LGBT movement's assertion that not allowing people to 'transition' leads them to suicide is … completely false," MassResistance President Brian Camenker comments. "All of the legitimate science leads to the opposite conclusion: that allowing them to transition leads to suicide."

Schaper, Arthur (MassResistance) Schaper

Arthur Schaper, field director for the socially conservative advocacy organization that has a presence in all 50 states, says they are "very pleased" that two major hospitals in Wisconsin – Children's Wisconsin and University of Wisconsin Health – are discontinuing the "mutilation of children."

But as the decision was likely made in response to directives from President Donald Trump to "block all Medicaid and Medicare funding for any services at hospitals that provide [so-called] gender-affirming care to minors," Schaper recognizes that this could be a short-lived victory.

"It's really important for everyone to realize that these are executive orders that were issued by the president, and as soon as President Trump moves on, depending on who takes his place, we could see these hospitals go right back to mutilating kids all over again," he says.

That is why Congress needs to step up.

"There needs to be a robust, broad effort to end this quackery that any human being can change his or her sex via hormones and surgeries," Schaper submits. "This is malpractice of the highest order. The notion of sex change surgery or procedures is total madness in and of itself, and it shouldn't be allowed to take place at all for adults as well as children."
