The President started the withdrawal in his first term but was taken out of office before the move was finalized.
The United States sends more than one and a quarter billion dollars to the WHO each year. China, by contrast, has three times the population of the US, but contributes 90 percent less to the WHO.
Dean Michele Bachmann of Regent University says the Trump administration is pulling out.
“That includes defunding the organization as well.”
Trump actually signed the withdrawal executive order on his Inauguration Day.
Bachmann says the WHO utterly failed during the COVID pandemic, insisting on masks and vaccines which proved, in turn, useless and harmful. She has a harsh indictment of the group.
“Clearly the World Health Organization has been a force for evil in the previous administration and prior to that,” she said.
Bachmann says the Biden administration was already bowing to WHO. The U.S. was on the verge of ceding its sovereignty to the WHO during future health crises, should they come, by way of WHO’s proposed Pandemic Preparedness Agreement.

Ultimately, the proposal failed and remains in limbo.
“Prior to this, under the Biden administration, whatever directive was issued by the World Health Organization was taken almost as a command or a mandate,” Bachmann said.
She says Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr is the right man to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.
“Robert F Kennedy Jr is a gift for America. He truly has not a left-right view of health care but wants to follow what the science indicates.”
