Nicholas Fondacaro, associate editor of Media Research Center's (MRC) NewsBusters, says Washington has never seen anything like what Elon Musk and his DOGE staff are doing.

"They can't keep up with all of the changes and all of the executive orders and the policies [Trump's] setting into place," so not knowing what to focus on, Democrats and their allies in the mainstream media are resorting to old, tired tropes.
"How did Hitler do it? Well, with the support of millions of ordinary Germans who just wanted Germany to be great again," MSNBC's Joy Reid recently suggested.
Fondacaro says the tone-deaf media, who were "blindsided" by 2016 and 2024, are dazed and confused, and their reaction has been to "set their hair on fire."
"They're not in tune with the American people," he submits.
If there is one thing people can count on from the Left, says the MRC editor, it is their hypocrisy.
"Suddenly the filibuster, which was this 'racist' thing that needed to go away when Biden was president just so that they can get their agenda passed, is suddenly now this amazing thing that they just guardrail to use against Trump," the media watchdog gives as an example.
Fox Business reported last week that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) had claimed more than $1 billion per day in spending cuts. Though it has not provided a detailed breakdown, the department will be working over the next 18 months (until July 4, 2026) to cut federal spending, shrink the government's workforce, and increase the efficiency of federal agencies.
