"Culture Warrior: Don Wildmon and the Battle for Decency" tells the story of the American Family Association's (AFA) founder. Before passing away in December 2023, he shared that he was motivated to start the ministry years ago when he sat down to watch TV with his young kids and could not find a single show without sex, violence, or foul language.
M.D. Perkins, research fellow of church and culture for AFA, says Wildmon started with cleaning up TV, but God expanded the ministry into one that takes on abortion, pornography, same-sex marriage, and more.
"As the older generations have passed on, and the younger generations are just starting to pick up the mantle in the culture war fight, I think a lot of people have forgotten why Christians were involved to begin with," Perkins offers.
The movie is now available to watch for free online, where it recently crossed 15,000 views. Perkins hopes it especially encourages Christians to take up the fight and realize that one person can make a difference.
