Much of the same liberal media that describes Donald Trump as a “convicted felon” at every opportunity is taking a different stance for Hunter Biden. The 54-year-old son of the president was just weeks away from sentencing, and becoming an actual convicted felon, after a jury found him guilty of a gun-related felonies in Delaware and after he pleaded guilty to $1.4 million in tax evasion in California.
Despite the jury conviction and the plea deal over unpaid taxes, President Biden said Sunday he was pardoning his criminal son for a “miscarriage of justice” against him.
“No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases,” President Biden further stated, “can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son.”
President Biden’s pardon for his son, and the excuse for doing it, came after the President has repeatedly said he would not pardon Hunter Biden but would allow the justice system to operate, such as the jury trial, without becoming involved.
In a panel discussion on CNN, lone conservative commentator Scott Jennings pointed out that President Biden repeatedly stated he would never pardon his son of his crimes.
“We could play it all morning,” Jennings, referring to previous media clips, said of Biden. “It's a lie. It is all a grift. Every American, except the most partisan, brain-rotted people, are going to be outraged by this.”
As if on cue, the Trump-hating women on “The View” seemed to take up Jennings’ challenge and defended the pardon, according to a Newsbusters article by associate editor Nicholas Fondacaro.
“He’s the president, the sitting president, and he can do whatever he wants to until his time is up,” Whoopi Goldberg told her co-hosts.
During that exchange, Ana Navarro said President Biden had given his son “the gift of freedom” right before Christmas. She then bragged to her co-hosts and the audience that she had repeatedly urged President Biden to pardon his son, first on the show, then in person, then in a phone call, and finally in a handwritten note.
Asked for his reaction to “The View” discussion, Fondacaro tells AFN the only co-host who spoke the truth was Alyssa Farah Griffin. When she pointed out Biden lied to the public by pardoning his son, Goldberg angrily told her to stop calling it a lie.
“Biden repeatedly insisted that he wasn’t going to pardon his son and went back on it. That’s the definition of a lie,” Fondacaro says. “No matter how loud Whoopi tries to shout over it, the truth is the truth.”
Back on the CNN panel, Democrat strategist Karen Finney defended the pardon and said she was offended by the “brain-rotted” comment by Jennings.
“He is leaving office. You don’t have to defend this,” Jennings pleaded. “You don’t have to die on this hill.”
In a post on X about the pardon, Daily Wire host Matt Walsh accurately pointed out President Biden went much farther than pardoning his son for the gun crime and tax charges.
"He pardoned him for all federal crimes. A blanket pardon. Any federal crime Hunter happened to commit over a period of 11 years," Walsh wrote.
