Katie Pavlik, a conservative political commentator, recently posted on X about information from the phone records of Dr. Anthony Fauci (shown right in an AP photo) which was released by Senators Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin) and Rand Paul (R-Kentucky). Pavlik wrote “the mandated and doctor recommended COVID-19 shot for pregnant women was effectively an abortion shot.”
Pavlik also referenced an open letter to the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology from Dr. James A. Thorp, an OB/GYN and maternal-fetal medicine specialist. He was criticizing a paper published in 2021 by the New England Journal of Medicine.
“The authors claimed a miscarriage rate of 12.6%, but the raw data revealed an 82% miscarriage rate in women vaccinated during the first trimester. This is consistent with the 81% miscarriage rate noted in the Pfizer 5.3.6 post-market data and is discussed in detail below. These figures mirror the effects of chemical abortion drugs such as RU-486,” Thorp wrote.
When Pfizer and Moderna vaccines became available in December of 2020, pregnancy was a gray area. They had not been tested in large numbers of pregnant women in pivotal clinic trials, and many were concerned.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists encouraged vaccines, citing a study by Augustin Ciapponi. He supported the vaccines in spite of the small sample size of pregnant women.
“We found a large body of evidence supporting the safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines during pregnancy. While the certainty of evidence is not high, it stands as the most reliable option available, given the current absence of pregnant individuals in clinical trials,” Ciapponi wrote.
The ACOG wrote that vaccine safety during pregnancy was “well established.”
The senators released their information among multiple public statements from federal health officials — including Fauci, the former chief medical advisor — saying they found no safety concerns and advocated for the vaccine in pregnant women.
Attorney General James Uthmeier (R-Florida) wants Fauci held accountable. He spoke this week on the “Jenne Ellis in the Morning” program on American Family Radio (AFR) about the findings, saying the evidence further proves that there was a grand lie, a big conspiracy.
Uthmeier is part of an investigation that could lead to state charges.
“The American people were deceived. They were told these things were safe and that there was efficacy, and we now know that that is not the case,” Uthmeier said.
The senators also released a Fauci text message chain with former CDC Director Rochelle Walensky and former U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy. In it, Fauci admitted that significant symptoms after the second dose could theoretically be associated with miscarriage in the first trimester.
“But did he caution pregnant women? Did he tell them to stop and assess the risks? Did he tell them there might be complications for their babies? No, he did not. He pushed the mandates, the unfounded mandates,” Uthmeier states. “Fauci knowingly pushed these things on women, including pregnant women, knowing full well that there could be complications, and I think there's a lot of women out there this morning that are pretty angry and rightfully so.”
Fauci was held in contempt of Congress by a Senate committee for invoking the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times during a Senate hearing regarding his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. While he did this to protect himself against self-incrimination, Paul argued that Fauci should have told the truth because he was without threat of prosecution because of a pardon by former President Joe Biden.
Meanwhile, Uthmeier, the Florida AG is joined by AGs from Louisiana and West Virginia on a states’ investigation.
“He was looking for fortune, fame. There's the possibility of self-dealing as he's out there trying to find book deals and awards to the tunes of millions of dollars,” Uthmeier states.
Nothing off table in Florida
He says Florida will seek accountability and justice. Working with the Senate and the Department of Justice, he says that they will work diligently and thoroughly, but also quickly, through text messages, voicemail and other records.
Uthmeier is looking particularly for Fauci’s COVID-19 policies and actions, potential financial conflicts and whether Fauci knowingly made false statements.
“There's no statute or code under Florida law that's off the table. We will be looking at everything — civil, criminal. There are various legal authorities under deceptive trade practices public nuisance, many different components of fraud,” Uthmeier said. “We'll be looking at absolutely everything. But at the end of the day, we want accountability.”
