Could the Hunter Biden pardon pave the way for J6ers?

President Joe Biden's pardon of his son has conservatives in an uproar, but one commentator says it could have some very positive effects.

In pardoning his son Hunter on Sunday evening, President Biden seems to have lowered the bar on the use of presidential pardons. Therefore, some are arguing, President-elect Donald Trump could now pardon all his allies who have been politically persecuted. Or he could pardon himself of the lawfare that has seen him charged with several alleged crimes over the last eight years.

But AFR podcaster Sandy Rios says no one deserves pardons more than the January 6th political prisoners who find themselves locked up in the basement of a Washington prison.

"I just got a photo of a J6er who's been held in solitary confinement since January of 2021. Solitary confinement! And this is pretrial detention," she adds. "This has to stop – and they deserve any pardon that comes their way."

According to the longtime conservative activist and talk-show host, an investigation by the incoming administration might uncover some facts the "Deep State" will fight to keep in the dark – such as: How many undercover agents were in the crowd that day, and what part did they play in the riots?

"But I maintain that the malfeasance [that day] was on the part of the government and on the part of the Deep State, which really set them up," she tells AFN.

Rios points out the Bible is clear that God appoints a country's leaders – and she contends the new Trump administration and the J6ers languishing in prison could be part of a divine plan.

"I actually wonder if this isn't yet another thing, in terms of timing, that God has allowed to take place to make it possible for President Trump to do this," she concludes. "The time is right for it."

Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution allows for the sitting president to pardon individuals charged with federal crimes.
