If Israel-Palestine peace deal fails, suspected as sign of End Times

A respected evangelical pastor says President Donald Trump's peace proposal between Israel and the Palestinians will fail.

Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel in Chino Hills, California, says that he has it on good authority that Trump's 20-point peace plan to end the Gaza war is destined to fail.

“How many times have I seen a president on the White House lawn signing a peace agreement with Israel and some neighboring Muslim Arab nation? The peace treaties don't last. This one's not going to last either,” states Hibbs. “I don't base that upon opinion. I base it upon Bible prophecy.”

According to the Christian Post, Hibbs believes that these events are signs of the End Times, with the failure of the peace deal making way for the Anti-Christ to appear. He also believes that the rise of antisemitism in political aisle is demonic in nature.

Even the antisemitic fringe voices on the right like Chris Fuentes and Candace Owens, he says, are accounted for in the Bible.

“No Christian should be ruffled by the comments of particular podcasters who are now fomenting this anti-Semitic view. In the last days, there will be those propagating doctrines of demons and teachings that are spawned on by deceiving spirits. That's what's happening,” informs Hibbs.

Hibbs says that passages in Ezekiel and Zechariah warn that eventually even the U.S. government will turn on Israel. The interpretation of Ezekial 38-39 and Zechariah 12 are disputed among Christians, but it is believed that the verses refer to the modern-day military opposition of the state of Israel.

“This is one of the signs of the end times — an increasing anti-Semitic, anti-Israel view that in the last days the world will turn against Israel,” states Hibbs.

No one knows the twists and turn ahead as history unfolds, and even President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will probably make mistakes along the way.

“Nations are messed up, but there's only one nation that has a covenant that God says, ‘I've made with them forever’,” says Hibbs. “It's not America — it's Israel.”
