According to a poll from The Washington Post, Jewish people are hiding their identities out of concern about antisemitism in America. But not everyone thinks that is necessary.
"My sons wear yarmulkes, my husband wears a yarmulke every single day, and we don't take them off almost ever, except for Antifa protests at Georgetown here in Washington," author and editor Bethany Mandel recently told the "Fox & Friends" program. "I don't understand, outside of Brooklyn, where people are getting assaulted, why people feel unsafe here."
Karol Markowicz, a Jewish columnist for New York Post, likewise pointed out to the Fox News program that 77.3 million Americans voted for the most pro-Jewish president ever.
"Donald Trump has been just non-stop about protecting Jews, both in America and in Israel," she said. "People care about us. America is not an antisemitic country. Look around."
She suggested that Jewish people who are concerned about their safety are living in the wrong place.
"If you're having to hide your Jewish identity, you're just living in the wrong place," said Markowicz. "I would say move to a red state where the governments are usually more careful about Jews and you can arm yourself."
Since the October 7, 2023, terrorist attack in Israel and the anti-Israel demonstrations that followed in the U.S., American Jews have been purchasing firearms and embracing their Second Amendment rights. American Family News (AFN), CNN, and NBC have aired or published news reports about that very thing.
