In a joint statement this week, France, the United Kingdom, and Canada said they are threatening "concrete actions" against Israel, such as sanctions, after Israel announced a new offensive in the Gaza Strip.
“If Israel does not cease the renewed military offensive and lift its restrictions on humanitarian aid, we will take further concrete actions in response," the joint statement reads.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the Israeli Defense Force plans to control “all of Gaza” and to force Hamas to release the remaining hostages.
Netanyahu also announced Israel will allow shipments of food into Gaza but also said Israel will ensure international aid reaches Palestinian civilians, not Hamas.
Dr. Charles McVety, president of Canada Christian College, tells AFN he is not surprised at the stance of the new prime minister, Mark Carney.

“It is wildly hostile to Canada's historical friend, the only democracy in the Middle East,” McVety warns.
As a Bible-believing Christian, McVety says he views the “bless” and “curse” warning about Israel, cited in Genesis 12:3, as a warning for Canada and its people.
“Every nation that has cursed Israel has become accursed itself,” he says.
