Israeli officials are outraged after Hamas terrorists on Thursday released the bodies of four slaughtered victims – a young mother and her two children, and a man who 83-years-old when he was abducted. One of the children was nine months old when he was taken, the youngest captive; the other was four years old. The terrorists claim the four were killed along with their guards by Israeli airstrikes.
Mike Huckabee (above), a former governor of Arkansas and GOP presidential candidate, expressed his outrage during an interview on Fox News.
"It's just heartbreak for this family who had to wait over 500 days to know the disposition of their loved ones," he stated. "And then when they find out their bodies come home in coffins that were locked by Hamas; and they handed keys to the Red Cross, but the keys did not fit the coffins. I mean, it's just another insult to injury.
"And then parading these coffins through a large crowd of cheering people was just another insult to injury."
Adding even more insult to injury, it has been reported that the body released and identified by Hamas as that of Shiri Bibas – the young mother abducted on October 7, 2023 – was in fact that of a woman from Gaza. The remains of Bibas' two young sons were positively identified by Israeli Defense Forces.
Huckabee said these people have no bounds of decency – "none whatsoever."
"Hamas has really demonstrated every single day why they cannot remain in any part of control, not just of Gaza, but anywhere. They just are savages," he added.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized the handover of the wrong remains as a "cruel and malicious violation" of the ceasefire agreement, which has halted fighting in the Gaza Strip, and said Hamas would "pay the full price" for the action.
