Moms for Liberty is scheduled to have their Joyful Warriors National Summit for October 8-11 in Dallas, Texas. This will be their fifth year holding this annual convention.
Tina Descovich is the co-founder and CEO of Moms for Liberty.
"We've got great strategy and breakout sessions where parents and grandparents and citizens alike can be trained on things that are going on in public education, how to run for school board," Descovich says.
Even though homeschooling is on the rise and more families are taking advantage of state education savings programs to pursue private and religious school alternatives, most students in America are in K-12 public schools.
"Yes, pull your children out in homeschool or private school, find what works best for them. But if we ignore what's happening in public schools — when our children turn 18 and they go out to vote, and they go out to find a partner and get married, and they go out and have bosses or employees, they will likely be the kids that went through public school," Descovich says.
Speakers are still being announces but, so far, include government figures such as Sen. Ashley Moody (R-Florida), Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Florida) and Attorney General James Uthmeier (R-Florida).
Sponsors include Heritage Foundation, Patriot Mobile and American Principles Project.
Previous sites for the Joyful Warriors Summit include Tampa, Philadelphia, Orlando and the District of Columbia.
They have reactions from some women who have experienced the conference, calling it “lifechanging” and expressing how good it feels to interact with others who share the same beliefs and want to act.
One mom from Florida said the summit is an experience one will always remember. She said that “every moment was filled with education, inspiration, fellowship and encouragement. You will walked away with knowledge and eager to jump into action.”
