A Virginia public school district, notorious for embracing left-wing ideology, has found itself in a political dilemma after Muslim high school students made light of kidnapping in a school skit.

The school district is Fairfax County Public Schools, where the Muslim Student Association chapter at two high schools filmed similar skits promoting an upcoming MSA meeting. In the skits, Muslim students are “kidnapped” by others when they say they don’t plan to attend.

The two FCPS high schools are Thomas Jefferson High and Langley High.

In a statement, the school district said the video was “traumatizing” to Jewish students and faculty due to “world events,” likely referring to the Oct. 7 2023 kidnapping of Israelis by Hamas.

“These videos depict violence, including kidnappings, with victims being hooded and placed in the trunk of a car, among other things,” the statement also said.

Discussing the skits on Fox News, Jewish author and journalist Bethany Mandel said Fairfax County schools deserves credit for taking action. She added, however, the students’ decision to mock kidnapping is troubling and shows something is amiss.

"There is a rot of antisemitism that is being allowed to fester," said Mandel. "Some of these Muslim students perhaps didn't know the line because, in classrooms around the country, there has never been a line depicted of what you can say and what is beyond the pale."

Located just outside Washington, D.C., Fairfax County is dotted with wealthy suburbs filled with federal government employees, most of them Democrats.

The public school district that serves those wealthy Democrats is famous for adopting an “equitable” grading scale in 2022 and adding “gender identity” to elementary school curriculum in 2024.

A female student, who is Catholic, sued the school district last year to protest a transgender-friendly policy that forced her to use made-up pronouns.

Back in the Fox News interview, Mandel said many students are not being taught about the Holocaust or the horrors of October 7th.

"A teacher's union in Chicago donated $10,000 to a pro-Houthi organization," said Mandel. "All of this, all these issues, are endemic in teachers' unions, in teachers’ ranks, and among students."
