Project 21 commented on the plan is to add an additional several million dollars to what is already included in the budget. Multiple ambassadors from Project 21 have shown their enthusiasm and support to the Trump administration efforts to help the community.

“This investment means more than dollars; it represents an intentional effort to equip black students to compete and lead on a national and global stage,” states the father of an HBCU student.
AFN connected with Richard Holt, an ambassador for Project 21 and a political strategist with Sirius Campaigns, which is his own firm.
"It was really exciting that the president has decided, once again, just like when he was in the White House the first time, to commit an additional $495,000,000 to HBCUs,” says Holt.
He states that this is incredibly important at this time.
“We see some of these smaller minority colleges being shut down, having budget shortfalls, and not having the resources that they need to really continue," says Holt.
He talked about the importance of HBCUs.
"(They) have been fundamental in helping to make sure that black people have access to education, especially in the time of segregation and Jim Crow. We still had the HBCUs, with their doors open to make sure that our people were able to get the education that they needed," continues Holt.
He thinks that it is really important that the country preserve that. However, he points out that, unfortunately, Democrats have not done that.
"The party, that carries around a crying black baby promising to save him, has not, in fact, done anything for the education of black people in America at a time when there are segments of the population who are deeply desirous of it,” says Holt.
He states that what Trump is doing is a testament to the commitment of the right in making sure people have access to education.
