According to The Free Beacon, the flyers potentially encouraged violent protests and are linked to Samidoun, a Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity network.
Destiny Albritton of Christians United for Israel says members of Columbia University Apartheid Divest, or CUAD, distributed the flyers.
"It is shameful that anti-Israel students are embracing radicalization at universities like Columbia University."
Albritton says the flyers were distributed just after the Treasury Department sanctioned Samidoun, calling it a "sham charity that serves as an international fundraiser for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a terrorist organization,"
which likely puts CUAD in the Treasury's crosshairs.
"The pamphlets encourage students to be radicalized, to embrace radicalization, and to kill the beast. Whatever the beast is is deeply troubling and should be investigated."
The pamphlets are labeled “CUAD’s Guide to Operational Security.”
Columbia says, 'That's not us'
A Columbia spokeswoman told the Free Beacon that "statements advocating for violence or harm are antithetical to the core principles upon which this institution was founded" and that "calls for violence have no place at Columbia." Though the flyers clearly state they come from CUAD, the spokeswoman said Columbia does not "know who produced or distributed these flyers since it was outside our campus." Anyone concerned about the flyers, the spokeswoman added, is encouraged to "report to the Office of Institutional Equity to be reviewed."
It should be noted Columbia received $1.2 billion dollars in federal grants last year.
