A conservative author says the fiery board of education meetings that continue to happen in blue states are evidence that parents are realizing leftists think they alone should be in charge of what kids learn at school.

Radical sex education and critical race theory are a couple of the topics that are enraging parents, and they are speaking out about it. But rather than back down, Jarrett Stepman of The Daily Signal says educators are doubling down on their insistence that parents should butt out of their children's education.

"I think the message that parents shouldn't have a say in their child's education, that you should just leave it all to a cabal of insiders, I don't think really flies with Americans," Stepman submits. "I don't think that it flies with voters."

He says this battle between parents and ideological educators, which has been building for some time, will be a major issue in coming elections.

"I think this is a battle that was a long time in coming," The Daily Signal contributor continues. "I think the education establishment has been pushing ideas like critical race theory for some time now, and I think this is a real fight."

Stepman adds that the hostility against parents is basically a shot at democracy itself.
