Unsavory field trip undermining values

A cultural issues writer says it's "absurd" that a Florida school board member was "thrilled" to have chaperoned elementary school students on a field trip to a "gay" bar.

Fox News reports Broward County School Board member Sarah Leonardi posted photos of Wilton Manors Elementary School's trip to Rosie's Bar and Grill, a local establishment that describes itself as a "busy gay-friendly spot luring diners with a festive patio, Sunday brunch & quirky comfort-food menu in Wilton Manors."

The trip quickly sparked outrage on social media, even from commenters who identify as homosexual.

Higgins, Laurie (Illinois Family Institute) Higgins

Laurie Higgins, a cultural issues writer for the Illinois Family Institute, says liberals are able to justify just about anything to further their ideology.

"They can rationalize anything they want to do -- any activity they want to do in class, any field trip they want to take, and especially now, because they just slap on the adjective diversity or inclusivity," Higgins submits.

Wilton Manors conducts the trip to Rosie's every year, supposedly to teach students about the community.

"It is absurd that we're taking school days out to do all this," Higgins insists. "The only things that kids have to learn lately are about justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. They're using our money to undermine our values and American society."

The Broward County School District did not immediately respond to Fox News' request for comment.
