Which way, voter? Election Day called referendum on the republic

Which way, voter? Election Day called referendum on the republic

When they cast a ballot today, Christian conservative voters are weighing more than just individual candidates—they're looking at competing visions for the future of the nation and the republic.

Talking about that stark choice on American Family Radio, Walker Wildmon of AFA Action said going to the polls really is choosing the country’s direction.

"Each party has a direction for the country,” he stressed. “And, in large part, these elected officials, they're going to follow and carry the mantle of whatever party they're running with."

Pointing to a high-profile Senate race, in Texas, Wildmon challenged the liberal news media’s attempt to describe James Talarico, the Democrat candidate, as a political moderate.

"A narrative that you get in the General Election, from the media and from others, is that the Democrats aren't as liberal and crazy as they say they are. They're very moderate. They're very middle-of-the-road,” Wildmon complained.

“And that's just not the case,” he continued. “Some of these candidates, within the Democrat Party, are just as left as they get."

AFN previously reported that Talarico, a state legislator, has been exposed as a radical leftist who has criticized white people and fossil fuels. A liberal theologian, he has also shared bizarre and heretical beliefs while using his faith to court Texas voters.

Wildmon also raised concerns over First Amendment-protected free speech being threatened by digital censorship. He pointed to past instances of powerful banks and popular social media companies debanking conservatives and shadow-banning right-leaning posts.

Democrat politicians and their base, Wildmon warned, “want to completely squash the rights of people like you and me to vocally oppose their worldview."
