The mid-term elections are this November, and that means primaries will determine which candidates are on the ballot for the general election.
Talking about this on American Family Radio (AFR), iVoterGuide President Debbie Wuthnow recently said the country is about 60% of the way through the primaries.
"We're in kind of a lull in the month of July," she said. "Things will pick up in August, and the final, last primary is not till mid-September."
Meanwhile, the iVoterGuide team is wrapping 10-15 voter guides for the primary election.
"We've actually started on a few general election voter guides," Wuthnow shared. "So, the work definitely continues and is ramping up as we head into November."
iVoterGuide is a division of AFA Action. Its main purpose is to provide a free, data-driven tool for voters to see exactly who is on their ballot.
Visitors to the iVoterGuide website will enter their address and see the races and candidates on their ballot. They can also sign up for email alerts so they know precisely when the data drops.
"It's that simple," Wuthnow stated. "You should get a pop-up that will appear on your screen to sign up for our email list, and we will send you election notices as well as weekly educational topics."
Wuthnow emphasized that iVoterGuide does not just cover major federal races; researchers also dig deep into state and local elections.
"iVoterGuide really wants to be a resource for all elections, your one-stop election resource," she said.
That means they are researching legislative candidates, ballot measures, judges who will be on state Supreme Court ballots, and some key school boards.
Wuthnow, a vice president of AFA Action and a member of the board, also co-hosts a new program on AFR called "The Compass."
