Brandeis University is planning to host an ICE surveillance activist during an upcoming "Immigration Justice Week."

Brandeis University is preparing to host its "Immigration Justice Week" from February 2–6. Campus Reform reports that Jonathan Paz is scheduled to speak at the Massachusetts school.

Zachary Marschall is editor in chief of Campus Reform.

Paz, Jonathan (U.S. congressional candidate & anti-ICE activist) Paz

“(Paz) is a U.S. congressional candidate and is an anti-ICE activist working to pretty much obstruct ICE proceedings and investigations," Marschall said.

Marschall explained that Paz has done things to help people report ICE through a hotline when agents are out trying to find illegal aliens. Last year, he founded a volunteer group called Fuerza Waltham that reports and documents different ICE arrests in the Waltham, Massachusetts area.

"I think the issue in this event is not a matter of free speech. It's a matter of political honesty, which I think the Left is severely lacking when it comes to the immigration debate," states Marschall.

Marschall said that higher education, whether that be student activists, leftist professors, or any of their allies, paint the illegal immigration debate with a very broad brush.

"If you only listen to them, you would only think that ICE is going after illegal immigrants who have not committed any crimes apart from coming here illegally, when the truth is that ICE is targeting -- and has been since January -- the most violent offenders,” explains Marschall. “These include rapists, murderers, and other people who have committed violent crimes against American citizens, primarily women.”

Marschall said that he thinks it is irresponsible for higher education leaders and activists to distort the truth among "gullible and unsuspecting Americans who aren't as read up on these issues," who take the radicals for their word.

"What we are trying to do at Campus Reform is hold these activists accountable by exposing what they're doing on campus and showing how they're not being honest about what it is that ICE is trying to do and who they're actually trying to arrest," says Marschall.
