A friend and mentor to Charlie Kirk, who was pulled into a conspiracy theory after his assassination, is calling out controversial podcaster Candance Owens for claiming everyone from Mossad agents to French special forces killed the Turning Point USA leader.

Dr. Frank Turek, who was himself accused by online sleuths of signaling Kirk’s shooter, told American Family Radio that Owens is guilty of making lots of wild accusations without any evidence.

"She's been saying that TPUSA betrayed Charlie, and she has no evidence for this,” he said. “She has possibilities. Anything is possible but not everything has evidence behind it."

Authorities have charged Tyler Robinson, 22, for Kirk’s murder after a manhunt that spanned only a day and a half after Robinson was recognized in surveillance video by his own father.

Investigators also have damning evidence Robinson confessed he shot and killed Kirk in text messages exchanged between Robinson and his transgender boyfriend.

Even though the evidence points to Tyler Robinson as the killer, Turek said the list of other suspects named by Owens include Israel and the Mossad, the French government, the Egyptian government, and even Turning Point itself.

“How could they all be a part of this?” Turek told the “Today’s Issues” radio program. “It's impossible, which means most if not all of what she's saying is completely bogus. Yet people eat it up."

Turek, known to many for his Christian apologetics ministry Cross Examined, was also a trusted advisor to Kirk. Turek’s biblical knowledge, and his experience with skeptics, helped the Turning Point leader answer questions from college students.

Turek, who was standing 10 feet away from Kirk when he was shot, previously told AFR he was questioned by the FBI after the fatal shooting. That interview came after social media posts, reviewing camera footage, said a man in a white hat appeared to signal the shooter with his hands.

Turek spoke to the AFR program  this week a day after widow Erika Kirk met face-to-face with Owens in what was expected to be a tense, blunt meeting.

Asked about his hopes for that meeting, Turek said he hoped Owens would put an end her conspiracy theories after talking to the widow, but Turek admitted he was skeptical that would happen.

In fact, Owens told her audience Tuesday she was not backing down from accusing Turning Point staff members of being behind his murder, and she refused to accept Robinson pulled the trigger.

“I did not at all recant any of my suspicions,” Owens said, “and I understand people disagree with me about particular people at Turning Point USA.”

Turek framed the accusations against him and others from a biblical perspective, bluntly using Satan as an example.

"What are the words used to describe Satan? The accuser, the slanderer, the liar, the murderer," said Turek."All those things have occurred in the Charlie Kirk situation. You have a murder. You have a bunch of liars. You have slanderers. You have people accusing people without evidence."
