Nichole Beer, a ‘pan queer’ elementary school librarian, filed a police report after seeing a post from a district trustee during her lunch break. Beer claimed that the post is something a fellow employee said that trustee could be prosecuted for.
Lydia Dominguez, the trustee, only posted on her Instagram that she was praying for children who are exposed to pornographic material in libraries and further asked Jesus to cleanse said libraries.
Libs of TikTok posted on X about the incident on X, stating, “Nichole thinks she’s a ‘victim’ because a school trustee wants to protect children from sexually explicit material. Unreal.”
Matt Lamb, associate editor of The College Fix, which reported the story, states that the trustee was not breaking any law and that she's protected by her First Amendment and free speech rights, as well as her right to practice her religion.
"I think it's telling that she wanted the police to get involved to go after a trustee who was sharing a relatively simple message, that she didn't want kids to be exposed to inappropriate content. And so, I think they should at least discuss with her that that's not really law enforcement's job," Lamb says.
Lamb states that this is a public school and, as such, librarian Nicole Beer is a public employee, answerable to the public.
"She is a librarian and should remember that she serves the taxpayers. So, if taxpayers and parents and citizens are dissatisfied with what's going on, they're actually the ones in charge. She is hired by the taxpayer to perform a duty," Lamb explains.
Beer was also expelled from the local teachers' union and sued by two officials because she falsely accused one of them of being a pedophile.
