Pro-LGBTQ hotline: Bill would encourage CA students with questions to dial for more info

A parental rights advocacy group says a bill being considered in California would fast track the LGBTQ agenda through public schools and is a threat to religious families and parental rights.

Brad Dacus is president of the Pacific Justice Institute. He explained to AFN how the bill pushes the LGBTQ agenda and exposes students to potential predators.

"This legislation is a huge undermining of parental rights and a serious threat to the health, the welfare of students in public education."

Pacific Justice Institute said in a press release the bill would mandate that all public schools from grade seven up to college and some private schools share contact information for The Trevor Project, a leftist means to help minors advance in the LGBTQ lifestyle.

The bill provides limited exemptions for some faith-based schools but fails to fully respect the autonomy of religious institutions, the release states.

"Even with the amendments, AB 727 remains a troubling overreach by the state into the sacred rights of religious schools and families," Dacus said.

He said the contact info would be shared on students' ID cards.

"This project would give the students information as a hotline on how to get support for their LGBTQ lifestyle or hesitations or concerns."

Pacific Justice Institute further said the Trevor Project has an online website connected to it called TrevorSpace. It is an unmonitored platform that encourages children as young as thirteen years old to connect with other teenagers and young adults, exposing children to potential predators.

Law enforcement officials have expressed concern about TrevorSpace, PJI says.

PJI has written state lawmakers to encourage opposition to AB 727.

Dacus called it is effectively a recruitment for the far left's policies and ideology.

“They wish to use this as a mode to separate the child from the parents regarding these issues, and even worse, impact the children in a very negative way with regards to their lifestyle decision-making, gender identity decision-making, etc."
