Vance details what the Trump admin. is working toward

The vice president is making headlines for the nonpolitical remarks he made at one of his latest speaking engagements.

Speaking to interviewer Mercedes Schlapp at the 2025 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), JD Vance touched on many things, including the Christian faith.

"The fundamental tenet of the Christian faith [is] not just a set of good moral principles, though it is that. I think the fundamental tenet of our faith is that the Son of God became man, He died, and then He raised Himself from the dead," the vice president declared to the applauding crowd. "And so much flows from that."

He also celebrated that death, though "a very bad thing," is nothing to fear, as there are more terrible things than losing one's life.

"Importantly, you can lose one's soul," he said.

Whether it's fighting for the unborn or fighting for peace and security for Americans, Vance said he wants the United States to be the kind of society where his kids can grow up to be virtuous people and solid Christians.

Through public policy, he said the Trump administration is trying to create a space where moms and dads can raise their own children as they see fit. For him, that means raising them up in the Christian faith, remembering God's grace and will even when life is not easy.

"We don't worry so much about whether we're going to have earthly rewards," Vance added. "We worry about whether we're doing right by God Almighty above. That's what I try to do, and that's how I try to run my life in public."

Vice President Vance also discussed key issues like the economy and illegal immigration during his CPAC appearance.
