A Republican lawmaker’s call for a “national divorce” has kicked off a soul-searching discussion among prominent conservative activists who agree the country is most certainly fracturing over politics and culture but disagree on what to do about it.

In a Twitter post Monday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-Ga) (pictured above) called for a “national divorce” that separates so-called red states and blue states. “From the sick and disgusting woke culture issues shoved down our throats,” she wrote, “to the Democrat’s traitorous America Last policies, we are done.”

The congresswoman’s comment was predictably mocked by the Left. A columnist for USA Today said the red states can have Wal-Mart stores and Dollywood but that mocking tone reflected the Left’s hatred for Americans who put Donald Trump in the White House in 2016.

The left-wing columnist, Rex Huppke, also laughingly said blue states can have fighter jets and the red states can have AR-15-toting Proud Boys, but his column failed to address Greene’s reasons such as the Left’s woke obsession with transgender rights and DEI training, and the record-breaking number of illegal aliens being allowed to remain in the U.S.

Other examples are plentiful, too, such as the U.S. Department of Justice unjustly charging a pro-life activist with a federal crime, while ignoring literal terrorist attacks against pro-life pregnancy churches and churches.

Millions of Americans have not forgotten President Biden attempted to use OSHA to force them to get a COVID-19 shot or lose their jobs if they refused. Biden has also bragged that record-breaking gas prices are good for the country and just last he bragged U.S. tax dollars are paying the pensions for Ukrainians so they can have "something in their pocket."

In far-left California, a solid blue state that is bleeding residents, AFN reported this week a high school teacher was fired because she would not hide transgender ideology from students' parents.

In an AFR radio interview Wednesday, conservative activist James Lindsay cautioned the audience to think about what a fractured United States would look like to our foreign enemies, such as China. Those countries, he said, would welcome a weaker country and they will get one if the country ever splits apart.

“Because there will be no unified response from a United States,” Lindsay told show host Jenna Ellis, “because there will not be a united states. There will be two broken factions.”

Lindsay, who has emerged as an anti-communist author and researcher, also said the violence-prone Far Left would never allow the nation to split, which means a civil war – which Rep. Greene said she wants to avoid – would be inevitable, he said.

"I do agree that we are very frustrated with the woke. We are very frustrated with Joe Biden's hostile anti-American program,” Lindsay said.  “But I do not believe that a divorce, especially a split of so-called red states and so-called blue states, is a good solution.”

After the “national divorce” tweet went viral, The First TV show host Jesse Kelly waded into the controversy in a lengthy Twitter post about the issue. His comments were expected on Twitter because Kelly has called for years for the U.S. to peacefully separate before there is bloodshed by two sides who can’t agree on even fundamental differences. This week he stated, again, he supports the break-up but also said opponents of the idea are making good arguments, too.

“They’re good arguments and they make good points. Divorce would be terrible. Maybe even suicidal,” Kelly wrote. “But for me it’s a preferable alternative to where we are going.”

He went on to describe “where we are going” in stark terms. Our federal government is filled with “committed communists” who hate conservative Americans but will never allow a peaceful break-up. But a break-up is coming anyway, he predicted.

“We’re two different nations already,” he concluded. “You just don’t wanna accept that cause it hurts.”
